Continuing its mission to help improve human longevity by simplifying healthcare, Bangalore-based healthcare platform Practo, has revealed a healthcare trend map for the year 2015.
In 2015, the company saw nine times growth in its total search volume, accounting to 10 Mn searches per month.
Practo has compiled the report based on the stats that it got from nearly 40 Mn appointments per year, and over 75 Mn searches across 2,00,000 doctors for over 200 specialties.
Here are a few key findings by the company, reported under ‘Healthcare Map of India 2015’:
- The top five specialists searched on Practo’s platform were Dentists, ENT, Paediatrician, Gastroenterologists and Cardiologists.
- A study for tier I cities, which included cities like Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad, revealed that Gastroenterologists were the top searched specialists comprising of 255% of the search. Followed by ENT specialist with 235% search result.
- Tier I cities included the search of Dentists, cardiologists and pediatrician as the third, fourth and fifth most searched specialist with 159%, 155% and 152% of search results respectively.
- Practo’s search in around 45 tier II & III cities also included Gastroenterologists as the top searched Specialties, with 201% of search result. Followed by Cardiologist (183%), ENT (147%), Neurologist (133%) and Pediatrician (130%)
Although Practo is present only in over 35 cities in India, it claims to have search the data volume from across many cities in the country.
Founded in 2008 by Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal, Practo provides two flagship products viz Practo Search, a doctor’s search engine, and Practo Ray, a B2B software product that helps doctors manage large number of patients and digital healthcare records every year.
